I really don't know if this works well as a hot oil treatment but I have to review it for the smell. IT IS HORRIBLE!!! I put a little in my hair and felt nauseated...had to wash it out immediately. I use a lot of ayurvedic herbs in my hair and can tolerate strong smells but not this! BTW...Shea Terra - the company - has terrible! customer service imo
